Do you want to work with research projects within the framework of sustainable development and contribute to developing new innovative processes and products based on forest raw materials? Are you a chemist who enjoys working in the laboratory and would enjoy working with research projects and customer assignments in the field of chemistry? Then there is an interesting job for you at RISE Processum AB in Örnsköldsvik. The position is a one-year parental vacancy. As we are in an expansive phase, we see good opportunities for future possibilities.

Your work tasks
As a research and development engineer in chemistry at RISE Processum, you will mainly work with developing new biorefinery processes, primarily in organic chemistry, for fuels, chemicals and materials. We work with fractionation of biomass, extraction of specific substances, chemical syntheses, processes at high temperatures and pressures and concentration of products.

You mainly work with planning, implementation and reporting of experiments on a lab or pilot scale. You perform chemical analyses, solve problems of a chemical and technical nature and work in project teams. As some experiments take a long time to perform, you need to have flexibility in your working hours. RISE Processum brings together companies and universities in joint research projects, which means that networking internally and externally is an important part of the work.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who have an academic degree in organic chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent competence where priority will be given to applicants with good chemical understanding, good laboratory skills and experience of process development. You appreciate laboratory tasks, have practical and technical skills and can work independently.

Your personal qualities are of great importance and we would like you to be trustworthy, easy to collaborate and a problem solver. Good knowledge of English or Swedish is a requirement. Place of placement is Örnsköldsvik.
