In a world facing significant challenges, there is also hope. A collective will to strive for a better world, for the sake of future generations. This determination – to make a difference – drives us at RISE. Do you want to be part of it? The Nanotechnology unit is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for the manufacturing of advanced semiconductor components.

About Us
The Nanotechnology unit operates within the Smart Hardware department and works in both national and international research projects as well as direct projects for the industry. Often, the work takes place in interdisciplinary projects focusing on technology and application in various areas, such as automotive, space, energy, lighting, and medical technology. In close collaboration with industry partners and public actors, the unit conducts applied research and development in electronics and photonics using nanomaterials and nanotechnology. We can offer you a stimulating and developmental job with pleasant and competent colleagues where you can significantly influence the unit’s development.

About the Role
As a Senior Process Engineer at the Electrum Laboratory in Kista, you will work in the manufacturing chain for components on semiconductor materials. The work primarily focuses on power semiconductors, and since the production is small-scale, your tasks will be highly varied. Besides the manufacturing process itself, you will also handle tasks such as equipment control and calibration. Additionally, you will manage design tools (CAD) to facilitate production development. The work mainly takes place in a cleanroom and includes production, development, and quality work. You will use production equipment for semiconductor manufacturing and chemicals used in the process.

The role also involves laboratory work for sample processing and evaluation, as well as various processes such as lithography, etching, CVD, and PVD. Additionally, you will monitor the manufacturing process, perform microscopy inspections, and assess material properties using advanced measuring equipment. Documenting process parameters, measurement results, and quality data is an important part of the work. You will also participate in the detailed planning of operations, report materials and time, and contribute to the quality work of the operations.

Flexible working hours may be required due to international collaboration. The position is full-time.

Who Are You?
To thrive in this role, we see that you are a driven and flexible person who enjoys working in a cleanroom lab. Additionally, you are very meticulous and have a strong quality mindset. You are used to working in a team, are responsible, and have the ability to see what needs to be done. We are looking for someone with an MSc/PhD (or equivalent work experience) with at least 7 years of experience working in a cleanroom with similar processes. Experience in process development with statistical methods (DoE, SPC, FMEA) in R&D is advantageous. You need to have a good understanding of English, both spoken and written.

Are We Right for Each Other?

Here, passionate problem-solvers come together to tackle some of the world's most important and perhaps most fun problems.
