About the Distributed Computing group
We are a world-class team of engineers and researchers who take computer systems seriously. We work on fundamental scalable systems for Real-Time Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence that can be used to program applications and take difficult decisions fast and reliably using continuous data, modern compilers and accelerators. Our solutions are being used 24/7 by Uber, Netflix, John Deere, King, ING and more!

 About the Summer jobs
We invite MSc students in ICT, preferably with a specialization or experience in distributed systems or ML, to work with us during July and August 2021 (with the ability for further extension) in implementing and testing software components of the next generation of computing systems.

You will participate in the regular event and meetings of the distributed computing group and work closely with system engineering experts and world-class researchers in creating contributions in either of the following three topics.

  • Topic1: Using ML (Reinforcement Learning) for optimizing code generation in distributed applications.
  • Topic2: Implementing and evaluating cutting-edge distributed consensus algorithms in Rust.
  • Topic3: Constructing a metrics system for evaluating performance of distributed computing apps.

The location of the summer job will be at RISE Kista (Electrum), however, online work is also acceptable.
