Our ICE Data center unit is growing and we are now looking for a devops engineer or software/operations developer with an interest in data engineering and distributed native cloud computing.
About the role
Our operations in Luleå have Europe's leading and largest laboratory for tests and experiments for data centers, AI and related systems. We work together with partners and customers from both industry and academia to develop sustainable and energy-efficient cloud services, telecom edge networks, data innovation platforms (e.g., the Swedish national space data lab) and more.
ICE test & demo data center consists of 1000s of servers in a number of modules with Openstack, Kubernetes and HDFS clusters. Most are Linux based and the hardware consists of Dell servers, Open Compute servers and several GPU servers. Part of the facility is used for facility research and two modules for software research and experiments.
As a devops engineer within IT infrastructure software in our team, you get the opportunity to work in a growing and leading institute with great development opportunities. You will be an important team player in a committed and highly skilled team which values working in close cooperation, both within the team and with our partners and customers.
In your role as devops engineer within IT infrastructure software for data engineering and distributed systems, you will primarily work with projects in an international context, software platforms and services for companies in data processing, AI and satellite data systems and distributed software systems. For these areas, you will work with development and operations of IT infrastructure software in innovation and research projects.
By participating in developing solutions and strategies for IT infrastructures, you contribute to the development of Swedish industry to keep it at the forefront internationally, able to meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders. The position is a permanent full-time employment. The workplace is in Luleå.

You have a minimum of a master's degree in computer science engineering or equivalent, with a focus on distributed software and IT systems. We are positive if you have a PhD degree. You have preferable 5+ years of work experience in product and software development. We are also open to newly graduated engineers who have the right educational background, high goals and great passion. As our partners are both in and outside Sweden, we see that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
