Our ICE Data center unit is growing and we continue to expand our team in Luleå. Therefore, we are now looking for you, who are a sustainability researcher or equivalent with a great interest in IT systems, energy system issues, life cycle analysis and industrial symbiosis with for example greenhouses and who are ready for your next development step.

About the position
Our facility in Luleå has Europe's leading and largest laboratory for testing and experimentation for data centers and related systems, here we work with our partners and customers from both industry and academia to develop sustainable and energy efficient data center systems for cloud services, telecoms, IT infrastructure for AI and industry. As a Sustainability Researcher in our team, you get the opportunity to work in a growing and leading institute with great development opportunities. In your role as Sustainability Researcher in data centers, you will primarily work with sustainability for IT infrastructure such as software, server hardware, data center systems and related integrated systems such as electricity grids, renewable energy, district heating and other systems in industrial symbiosis. For these areas, you will work with research in heat recovery, holistic energy efficiency and optimization, life cycle analysis and industrial symbiosis. By developing solutions, strategies and analysis of sustainability for AI infrastructures, data centers and integrated systems, you contribute to the development of Swedish industry so that it is at the forefront internationally and can meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders.

The assignments have a great variety, which brings new exciting opportunities every week. In your role, you also have contact with our customers, and we believe that you look forward to being the organization's face to the outside in the area of ​​sustainability. Your most important duties are:

• Develop RISE's offering by working with sustainability.
• Experimentally test strategies and solutions in large-scale testing with colleagues.
  • Develop guidelines, policies for AI infrastructure and data centers.
• Design, conduct and study large-scale experiments in industrial symbiosis between data centers and for example greenhouses or biomass drying.

Who are you?
As a Sustainability Researcher with us, we believe that you are a passionate and solution-oriented person who likes to take on new opportunities. Since the role involves contact with customers and other stakeholders, we believe that you enjoy social contexts and like to transform ideas into experiments and understanding. Through your understanding and flexible approach, you come to your right in an environment that is dynamic. You have a master degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably with focus on energy, environment and sustainability. It is a merit if you have some years of work experience in primarily sustainability analysis and / or systems for industrial symbiosis. You could also have a recent doctorsexam, but this is not a requirement. We are also open to newly graduated engineers who have the right educational background, high goals and great passion. Since our partners are both in and outside Sweden, we see that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
