Our research unit, Connected Intelligence is located in RISE offices in Kista and is a part of RISE Computer Science department. We engage in research projects with high academic quality at both international and national level. Some of our projects are also in close collaboration with industry. The Connected Intelligence unit focuses on networked and connected systems from IoT and embedded systems to smart networks - 5G/6G and beyond. As a researcher in our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a growing research team with great development opportunities. You become an important team player in a committed team with high competence and will be able to collaborate both within the team and with other departments at RISE as well as our external partners. Our unit have strong relations with academia including KTH and Uppsala University.

About the role
In your role as a researcher in AI/ML based smart networks, you will mainly work in Kista. Our projects have great variety but are focused on AI-based cybersecurity, wireless 5G and 6G networks, edge AI and network management. In your role you are also in touch with our project partners, and we believe that you look forward to being a leading researcher and expert in the projects. Your most important tasks are to:

  • Lead and participate in cutting-edge research projects
  • Participate in defining research activities
  • Work on high-quality research proposals with internal and external partners
  • Publish high-quality research results in leading publication venues
  • Supervise students both at PhD and MSc level

The position is initially over 12 months with a good chance to extend to permanent after that.

Who are you?
As a researcher in our team, we believe that you are a solution-oriented person driven by taking on new challenges. Since the role involves regular contact with project partners and other stakeholders, we believe that you enjoy social contexts and are service-oriented. Through your structured and independent way of working, you come to your right in a dynamic research environment.

You have experience in leading and participating in research projects in the area of artificial intelligence or networking and ideally in the intersection of the two. You have a track record in acquiring project grants at both national and international level. You have participated in leading roles in international or national projects.

You have relevant postgraduate education from university or equivalent, preferably with a focus on networking, artificial intelligence/machine learning. It is a merit if you have experience in development in C or C++ for network systems and experience with Linux or similar operating systems. Since our partners are both in Sweden and outside Sweden, we see that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English.
