We are currently looking for a new Vice President (VP) for the Infrastructure and Concrete Technology department at the Built Environment division

The Built Environment division gathers the competencies in energy, infrastructure, building and real estate as well as innovation management and system conversion for a sustainable society. Through applied research, the department strives for innovation, functionality and reduced climate impact from materials and structures.

About the role
As Vice president (VP), you will be managing a department of around 100 people. Each department is divided into a number of units with their own Directors, and you will work in close partnership with colleagues. You will work through general and strategic specialisations for RISE together with your management team and staff, and you will create tactical action plans for your division. You will work closely with our customers and help to further develop our various offerings.

You will be responsible for strengthening our capacity for innovation and research development together with colleagues within RISE and with our partners. We believe you will have a strong network in the business community, the public sector and at universities and colleges, and that managing your staff and allowing them to develop are important elements of your work. As Vice President (VP), you will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) and may be required to travel on business at times.

Who are you?
To be successful in the role, we expect you to be a natural leader and role model, who motivates optimal performance from your coworkers. You are responsive and a good listener. What motivates you is delivering benefit to others and engaging your coworkers through inspiring and courageous leadership. You get the Directors involved and coach them on their job of breaking down the overall assignment and ensuring innovation capacity. You are passionately interested in different domain areas and how they can work together to breed innovation, strengthen research and our testing and demo activities, and increase our commercial focus.

It is also a major advantage if you are an experienced manager who is used to leading through other leaders, and if you have previous experience of responsibility for outcomes. We expect you to have a professional approach and inspire confidence in both customers and coworkers. It is very important that you are a team player with a definite ability to cooperate. You will have a university education or equivalent that is relevant to the division, and you will speak and write Swedish and English fluently. If you have headed research projects and/or development projects, this is a plus.

Within RISE we like variety, and we’re convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment in which we can together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. We cannot promise you an easy job, but what we can promise is an exciting journey on which, together with committed and talented colleagues, we will contribute to a sustainable future and to getting ahead of the global competition.
