Senior researcher in Optimization and AI/Machine Learning - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Are you a senior researcher with experience in optimisation, AI or machine learning? Do you want to work in exciting industrial research projects that lead the way for future industry?

RISE in Västerås is now looking for a full-time senior researcher, possibly a “postdoc”. The candidate will be working in projects in the areas of mathematical modelling and optimization, artificial intelligence and machine learning, in close collaboration with industry.

About the position
As a senior researcher at RISE you will be part of a team that conducts applied research together with creative colleagues and in collaboration with both industry and public sector. You will drive and participate in industrial research projects that lead the way for future industry. This includes:

• Conduct research in different phases of the project using relevant methods, including the phase of application writing;
• Develop methods and bring them into different application areas, in particular within the automation industries;
• Take role in planning and management of projects;
• Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through best suitable communication means: inspirational talks, demos, videos, presentations, articles.

Who are you?
To be successful in this role we believe you are a curious, goal-oriented, flexible, ambitious and communicative person. You hold a PhD related to computer science and/or applied mathematics or have the equivalent experience from industry. You also have experience with optimisation, artificial intelligence or machine learning.

A background and experience in operations research, simulation, statistics and algorithms is merit, as well as documented programming skills. Further abilities to present and document your work in English and preferably also in Swedish, i.e. to describe the problem, the solution and the approach in an understandable manner, is also merit.
