If this sounds exciting, we are now looking for a Director of the Inspection West unit that belongs to the Department of Control and Calibration. The Department consists primarily of nationwide activities in the field of inspection, regular checks and calibration. The organization is accredited, and work is carried out in a competitive market in which we are an independent, impartial actor. We perform checks on scales and fuel meters, and field inspections in areas such as work environment, fire safety and road safety. The department also includes RISE calibration and checking of precious metals. The Unit Inspection West has accredited field inspections within health and safety, Fire safety, Traffic safety, Transport containers, ADR-SLifts/Gates/Escalators, Rail-borne and machinery Vehicle superstructures.

About the position
As Director you will manage a unit of about 20 people. Together with the department’s management team and your coworkers, you will work through the overall objectives for RISE and create clear and concrete goals for your unit. You will be responsible for providing a clear picture of RISE’s vision and role in the innovation system. The goal is to generate tangible results, both quantitative and qualitative, and satisfied customers. You will work closely with our customers and you will help us to further develop our various offers.

You will be present and available without sacrificing your role as a representative of the employer. You will help to strengthen our capacity for innovation and research development together with colleagues within RISE and with our partners. We expect you to have a strong network in the business sector and the public sector, as well as with universities and colleges. As a Director, you will report to the Vice President and the location for the position is Borås. Some travel may be involved.

We expect you to have a professional approach and inspire confidence in both customers and coworkers. It is very important that you are a team player with a definite ability to cooperate. You will have a university education or equivalent that is relevant to the unit, and you will speak and write Swedish and English without any trouble. Furthermore, it is of benefit if you have previous managerial experience and if you have led research and/or development projects. A driver's license is a requirement.
