Are you looking for challenges in the field of packaging research and are you passionate about developing new concepts and knowledge for materials and printing techniques? We are seeking a driven research engineer in the field of future packaging.
Who are we?
RISE Packaging is growing rapidly and we are now investing heavily into strengthening our team within printing technology for packaging materials. We strive for high technical expertise which, in combination with a unique lab and pilot environment, is able to meet tomorrow’s challenges in the packaging value cycle.
Working in the Bioeconomy division at RISE allows you to contribute to the development of tomorrow’s circular bioeconomy. We work closely with industry and research institutes across the globe. Together we generate and refine research results and ideas based primarily on forestry raw materials. It is a stimulating environment with room for development and good camaraderie. The position is at Drottning Kristinas väg 61 in Stockholm close to the KTH campus, with the city as well as nature on your doorstep.
Your role
You enjoy working with applied research centred on knowledge building and problem solving.
You will work in a team of researchers and programming engineers, and together you will develop methods, conduct analyses, and increase understanding with regard to printing on packaging materials. Focus will be on packaging materials such as various forms of cardboard, and on techniques such as flexography, inkjet and offset printing. The main goal involves being able to predict printing properties based on a given material.
Work duties will include experiment planning, test printing, measurement, analysis, reporting, report formulation, method development, program development, etc.
Technologies in test printing and image analysis can include: IGT print tester, Automatic Scanning Absorptometer, OptiTopo and Mottling Expert. Analysis and program development will largely be carried out using software, we therefore expect you to have good knowledge of MatLab or similar.
Who are you?
You have a research degree or Master of Science in engineering degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or equivalent. Experience in working with packaging and printing techniques is an advantage.
You are committed, structured, see new possibilities, enjoy problem solving, and possess good interpersonal skills.
Our offer
Here at RISE, we like variety. We are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where together we can push boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. This is a place that gathers passionate problem solvers to unravel some of the world’s most pressing – and perhaps most exciting – problems. We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. With us you have a chance to make a real difference and contribute to the development of tomorrow’s circular bioeconomy.
