In the Perception unit we work with perception measurements on materials, packages and food products. We are based in both Stockholm and Gothenburg with technology for various measurement available. In the Gothenburg site the target is primarily sensory evaluations and consumer measurements on food products in different stages of product development. In the Perception unit we work for the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on e.g., hunger, health, well-being. We work in a multidisciplinary environment collaborating with researchers from different fields to achieve a complete understanding of the factors influencing perception and behaviour.

About the position
In your role as a researcher you will independently design and execute sensory and consumer experiments in national and international research projects as well as short-term projects for the industry. Your role will vary between being the project leader as well as project member in different parallel projects working closely with other sensory scientists and product development researchers. Other responsibilities include performing data analysis, interpretation of experimental results and reporting these, writing scientific papers and research proposals.

Who are you?
As a Researcher at RISE, we believe that you are self-motivated, science driven, eager to learn and to incorporate new ideas. You are highly collaborative and able to work in a team environment. You have excellent oral and written communication skills in both research and industry environments. You either have a PhD in sensory sciences or related fields (e.g., psychology or nutrition) or several relevant years of experience in the area. A background in food science, food technology or chemistry is an advantage. Further you also have:

  • Research experience in consumer or sensory science.
  • Knowledge in data analyses and statistics, especially using univariate and multivariate analysis in sensory and consumer analysis.
  • Proven publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in training a sensory panel.

Additional merits are: Experience in international research collaboration and networking as well as good skills in the Swedish language.

The position includes some travel, nationally and internationally.
