• Do you have experience of business development?
  • Are you quick to immerse yourself in new areas of technology and research and to understand how they can interact with the commercial business in order to create even more customer value?
  • Like us, are you energized by the almost endless possibilities of the technologies of the future?
  • Do you want to help the world make quicker progress in the transition to the sustainable society?

If your answer to most of the above questions is yes, you have an opportunity to apply for probably one of the best jobs in Northern Europe as Vice President (VP) Research and Business Development, of the Materials and Production division. The division gathers expertise in corrosion, chemistry, biology, medical technology and mechanics. We are active in product, production and material development for textile, polymer, composite, metal and ceramic.

As VP Research and Business Development, you will be responsible for driving both our business and our research development in parallel. We want you to help us to further develop our different customer offerings and achieve an even clearer leader position within our branches of research at divisional level. You will be involved in the preparation of the Group-wide research strategy for RISE, and your task will then be to break it down into the division’s specific domain areas. You will move between the strategic and the operational perspective, and you have a major opportunity to influence the direction of both.

You do this by conducting a close dialogue with your colleagues both within RISE and also in close dialogue with our financiers and key customers primarily around Europe. You will be a natural member of both the technology and market councils, and you will be a member of divisional management and report to our Chief Technology and Business Development Officer at Group level. The placement for this position is Stockholm or Gothenburg.

Who are you?
We are looking for a person with a passionate interest in various technologies and how they can work together to create innovation. You are an energetic person who is not afraid of discussions and meetings with customers and colleagues. We also expect you to have an MSc in a, to the division relevant technical area and/or quivalent work experience, and to be fluent in both spoken and written English.

Are we right for each other?
We like differences within RISE and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment in which we work together to challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and competence for the future. We are not promising you an easy job, but we can promise an exciting journey in which we work together with engaged and competent colleagues to contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a lead in the global competition. Do you want to come along on this journey?
