Our ICE Data center unit is growing and we continue to expand our team in Luleå. Therefore, we are now looking for you who are a data center technology or energy researcher or equivalent with a great interest in IT systems, energy system issues and industrial symbiosis with, for example, greenhouses or district heating networks and who are ready for your next development step.
About the position
Our operations in Luleå have Europe's leading and largest laboratory for tests and experiments for data centers and related systems, here we work together with our partners and customers from both industry and academia to develop sustainable and energy efficient data center systems for cloud services, telecom, IT infrastructure for AI and industry. As a Research Engineer in our team, you get the opportunity to work in a growing and leading institute with great development opportunities. You will be an important team player in a committed team with high competence and which values working in close collaboration, both within the team and with our partners and customers.
In your role as a Research Engineer in data centers, you will primarily work with technical solutions for IT infrastructure such as software, server hardware, data center systems and related integrated systems such as electricity networks, renewable energy, district heating and other systems in industrial symbiosis. For these areas you will work with cooling methods (liquid and air), heat recovery, regulation and simulation, holistic energy efficiency and optimization.
By developing and implementing solutions, strategies and methods for infrastructures, data centers and integrated systems, you contribute to the development of Swedish industry so that it is at the forefront internationally and can meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders.
The assignments have great variety, which brings new exciting opportunities every week. In your role, you will work closely with senior researchers and project managers and sometimes also directly with our customers. Your most important tasks are mainly to:
Who are you?
As a research engineer with us, we believe that you are a passionate and solution-oriented person who likes to take on new opportunities. You can also see business relevance in the projects and technologies that are being developed. The role means the opportunity to work with technically challenging problems, and we believe you have the ability to both work focused on specific problems, but also communicate within the team, to seek support and help others. Through your understanding and flexible way of working, you come to your right in an environment that is dynamic.
You have a master's degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably with a focus on computer technology, electrical engineering, energy technology, technical physics or the like. It is an advantage if you have some years of work experience in energy / hvac / data center / embedded systems. We would like to see a recent dissertation but are not a requirement. We are also open to newly graduated engineers who have the right educational background, high goals and great passion. As our partners are both in and outside Sweden, we see that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
