Do you want to work on research projects within the framework of sustainable development and develop new innovative processes and products based on sustainable feedstocks? Are you the scientist or engineer who likes to work on research and customer projects within industrial biotechnology? Then there is an interesting position for you at RISE Processum AB in Örnsköldsvik.

About the position
As a researcher or engineer in chemistry at RISE Processum, you work primarily with developing new biorefinery processes, mainly in organic chemistry where fractionation of biomass, extraction of specific substances, green chemistry (fuel, chemicals and materials from biomass), processes at high temperatures and pressures (ATEX environment, HTL, HTC) and concentration of products are included. A large part of the work is therefore done practically on a lab and pilot scale, but depending on your previous experience, project management and application work can also be included in the service. RISE Processum often brings together several companies and universities in joint research projects, so networking outside the organization is also an important part of the work.

Place of placement is Örnsköldsvik.

Who are you?
We are looking for candidates with an academic degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent skills where priority will be given to applicants with experience in process development and work in pilot scale. Your personal qualities are of great importance, and we would like you to be trustworthy, easy to collaborate and a problem solver. Good knowledge of English or Swedish is a requirement.

Biorefinery Test Bed
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and its subsidiary RISE Processum are leading players in the development of the future bioeconomy and biorefinery. With a unique set of research areas, test beds and demonstration environments, we form a comprehensive solution for the conversion of biomass into green products, which have previously been fossil-based. On behalf of the Government, we are building a hub for research in biorefinery development and carrying out a major modernisation of our test beds as well as a number of new investments to improve the conditions for the commercialisation of new solutions for a circular bioeconomy in an international centre.  Read more about the venture.
