About the position
We are currently building new unique research infrastructure including a high-throughput laboratory for strain development, bioreactors from 1 to 10 000 liters, and equipment for downstream processing. We are now recruiting scientists and engineers ready to join our new journey! 

As a scientist or engineer in biotechnology at RISE Processum, you will mainly work on R&D projects targeting various applications such as biochemicals, biofuels, biomaterials, proteins & enzymes, food & feed etc. R&D work at lab and pilot scale is an important part of the job. You will collaborate with researchers and professionals not only within RISE Processum but also with professionals from companies and other R&D organizations, as RISE Processum collaborates with several companies and universities in joint R&D projects

Who are you?
We are looking for candidates with an academic degree (PhD, MSc, BSc) in biotechnology, biochemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent competence that is interested in development of new biorefinery processes. You have theoretical and practical expertise and experience in fermentation technology and cultivation of microorganism. Experience in working with bioreactors at lab and pilot scale is a merit. Your personal qualities are of great importance, and we would like you to be a cooperative problem solver. Fluent in English or Swedish is a requirement.

Biorefinery Test Bed
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and its subsidiary RISE Processum are leading players in the development of the future bioeconomy and biorefinery. With a unique set of research areas, test beds and demonstration environments, we form a comprehensive solution for the conversion of biomass into green products, which have previously been fossil-based. On behalf of the Government, we are building a hub for research in biorefinery development and carrying out a major modernisation of our test beds as well as a number of new investments to improve the conditions for the commercialisation of new solutions for a circular bioeconomy in an international centre.  Read more about the venture.
