RISE Measurement Science and Technology is now looking for a researcher in power and energy based in Borås.

International competition, digitalization, climate change, and sustainability are examples of challenges that Sweden and Swedish business are facing, and we at RISE contribute to solutions to these challenges by creating research, innovation and development projects in collaboration with companies, universities, colleges, and public sector.

We are a national center for traceable and quality-assured measurement technology and are the Swedish national measurement site for several measures. We coordinate with academia, business, and authorities to strengthen Sweden's competitiveness by providing traceability and deep metrological competence.

About the role
The work involves collaboration with a well-established group of measurement engineers and researchers who have deep knowledge in measurement technology, including time, high voltage technology, and electrical power and energy. The research carried out at the unit spans a large area, from accurate measuring equipment for phase angles and power to algorithm development for control of energy measurement in the main grid.

You are involved in driving the research within your group through both internal and publicly funded projects. You should be business-oriented and have the drive to take responsibility for the entire process, from applying for new research grants to working with the research. You should also have a good understanding of mathematics, as the work often involves the use of mathematical models. In your role, you will also handle technical issues from customers and act as support for engineering colleagues. On-site metrological work at the customer's site is part of the role when necessary.

Furthermore, you are responsible for participating in national and international networks where you build relationships and platforms for collaboration and create strategies for partnerships with colleges and universities.

To help you at RISE, there is an innovation infrastructure consisting of colleagues' expertise in all technical areas and vast laboratory, test, and prototyping environments.

The location of the position is in Borås and you report to the unit manager.

We believe that you have a strong drive to develop both yourself and your employees, and you find it easy to communicate and collaborate with others. You like to stimulate and inspire colleagues around you. You are curious and easily familiarize yourself with new areas and like challenges.

The position offers great opportunities to develop professionally and to be involved in the development of new services and methods. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
