We need to strengthen our research team working on environmental sustainability of the agricultural and food system. We are looking for two, preferably doctoral agronomists, biologists or environmental scientists with good knowledge of agricultural production systems, in crop cultivation or animal husbandry. A big plus for the position is that you can contribute with experience in environmental assessment of the agricultural system using environmental system analysis, LCA and a holistic approach.
About the role
As a researcher at RISE, you will have the opportunity, together with the team, to develop our research in environmental assessment of the food system with focus on the agricultural production system. You will lead as well as work in research projects and are expected to actively contribute to the application work for continued funding and development of our research. The role requires a good ability to work together, as well as flexibility about the various assignments we face.
In addition to research assignments, you will also lead projects and/or assist in applied assignments that in various ways promote sustainable food production and sustainability in the value chain of food in Sweden. RISE acts as a bridge between academia and industry, and the role as a researcher with us means a chance to make a real difference.
The position belongs to the RISE Department for agriculture and food, within the unit Sustainable consumption and production I, with location in Uppsala, Gothenburg, or Lund as desired. The position is a permanent position. Access date as agreed.
Who are you?
You are skilled, committed and without prestige and enjoy working together in a team and willing to take different roles within the team. You should preferably have a PhD in agronomy, biology or environmental science and have good knowledge of the agricultural production system and its environmental impact. Having a good understanding of how the biological systems in the primary production of food work is a necessity.
You are comfortable taking on the various stages of the project, from idea and method development, application process to execution and project management. You see collaboration as a natural part of solving complex problems and enjoy close collaborations both with colleagues and external parties.
As a researcher at RISE, you should be comfortable with writing reports in Swedish as well as in English and participate in various contexts to disseminate project and research results. It is advantageous if you have experience with LCA methodology or other environmental system analysis of the agricultural system.
