About Us
The Swedish government aims to strengthen the competitiveness of livestock production for food by ensuring that the latest knowledge, both nationally and internationally, benefits Swedish producers.

The Swedish Knowledge Center for Animal Husbandry, a new unit within RISE to be built together with experts in the field and with experts in knowledge transfer, advisory services, and communication. Together with stakeholders, we will identify the needs of livestock production and develop models and advisory methods that make the knowledge useful to farmers.

The Knowledge Center will not conduct research or advisory services itself but will act as a link between research and advisory services, collecting knowledge from various sources and making it useful for advisory firms and farmers.

About the Role
We are looking for you who can drive and coordinate customized knowledge gathering and transfer to farmers, in the areas of business economics and profitability in livestock production. You have industry networks and can establish collaborations, particularly within Sweden. We see great opportunities for Swedish livestock production to grow and develop with relevant and useful knowledge for farmers. To succeed, Swedish stakeholders, academia, institutes, innovators, companies, and financiers need to collaborate, and you want to contribute to that.

As an expert in our team, you will have the opportunity to work with the value chains of agricultural companies and explore possible paths to profitability. You will be an important team player in a dedicated department with high expertise that values close collaboration with colleagues within RISE and our partners.

You will have a key role in coordinating work on agricultural economics with our experts, industry partners, and other RISE competences to contribute to knowledge transfer based on the current and future needs of farmers.

Specifically, you will coordinate our cross-cutting themes on economically sustainable livestock production, evaluate the profitability of agricultural investments and new initiatives, facilitate dialogue, drive knowledge transfer, and contribute to conveying for example profitability calculations and proven experience to farmers and industry partners.

You will be part of a team consisting of different experts with competencies in various animal species, livestock buildings, business economics, and knowledge transfer – all aimed at strengthening livestock production in Sweden. You report to the Director of The Knowledge Center.

Who Are You?
You have an education at least at university level in business economics/agricultural economics. You have experience and knowledge in evaluating investments using farm planning programs for various types of agricultural companies, such as Agriwise or equivalent. We prefer if you have experience in interdisciplinary work, as well as working with information dissemination and identifying farmers' knowledge needs in national/international projects.

It is advantageous if you have at least 5 years of work experience in the field of business economics for agricultural companies, information efforts/training/advisory services for farmers.

As a person, you are focused, engaged, driven, and skilled at building relationships with researchers, advisors, and farmers. You work goal-oriented and structured, with a high ability to quickly absorb information and events. Your mindset is strategic, and you have a holistic view.

You are systematic in your approach and are open to new ideas. You collaborate well with people in different roles and value the value creation in working with others.

Fluent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is a requirement. The position is located in Uppsala or Lund and involves some travel, hence a valid driver's license (B) is required.
