Do you want to be part of developing the energy sector through research and development projects in the field of wind power and wind power technology? Important areas we work on include everything from flow simulations and load calculations to system analysis, development of value chains and digitization issues within the wind power field. Are you good at gathering and analyzing data and presenting and motivating in speech and writing? Then you might be the one we're looking for!
About Us
Sweden is facing a transformation of the energy system, and in that work, RISE plays a significant role. We, at the Renewable Energy Systems unit, conduct research in the field of renewable energy production and electrification, from technical components and products primarily within electricity production, to comprehensive concept and system studies at the national or European level. Wind power is one of our key research areas. We now need more people to support our industrial partners, authorities, and society in the transition to a robust, secure, and fossil-free energy system with a large share of new wind power both onshore and offshore.
As societal challenges become increasingly complex, a powerful innovation partner is needed to provide comprehensive support and contribute with multiple perspectives. The Renewable Energy Systems unit conducts customized research at the national, Nordic, and EU levels and provides expertise and new knowledge to support the development of sustainable energy and power systems within the required technological areas. We collaborate with authorities, large and small companies, universities, and colleges on common challenges.
About the role
We are now looking for someone who wants to actively drive research and development in the field of wind power and has experience in writing research applications and collaborating with other researchers in larger projects or independently driving their own research projects. The position will most likely be located in Gothenburg, but Karlstad or Lund may also be considered.
In this position as a researcher, the focus is on the significant expansion of wind power happening in society and the issues related to its impact on energy supply and the electricity system. You will work as a unifying force for RISE in the field, with a focus on high-quality applications and projects to channel RISE's expertise into a unique offering. You will conduct research and collaborate internally with colleagues at RISE, as well as with external partners, to develop RISE's role as a research institute in the field of wind power on both the Swedish and European research arenas.
You will become an important team player in a dedicated and innovative team with high expertise. We understand the importance of teamwork when it comes to new innovation, and we see you and your expertise as a crucial part of strengthening our innovation capability and research development in wind power research.
Who are you?
You likely have a PhD in the field of wind power, preferably with a focus on mechanical design, control systems, or electrical power engineering. You speak and write English fluently and Swedish at a basic level. It is desirable that you have previous experience working in the wind power field. It is advantageous if you have written your own applications for research and/or development projects, both for national research funding organizations and EU-funded research projects. As a person, you are driven, flexible, and dynamic. Furthermore, you have the ability to work purposefully and coordinate processes. You have a scientific approach and work methodically to find solutions to complex issues.
Are we a good fit?
At RISE, we embrace diversity, and we believe that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we challenge boundaries together and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. We do not promise you an easy job, but we can promise an exciting journey where, together with committed and competent colleagues, we contribute to a sustainable future and secure a competitive edge in the global market. Do you want to join us on this journey?
