About Us
The Unit for Intelligent Systems at RISE conducts natural language processing research within the framework of the RISE Center for Applied AI. We have a strong focus on building, improving, advancing, and validating language models specifically tailored for Swedish and other Scandinavian languages. We are dedicated to developing resource-efficient methods within natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) in general. Furthermore, we have a strong emphasis on multilingual models and applications, meaning that we strive to create solutions that work effectively for multiple languages.

About the Role
Your role as a senior researcher will involve conducting research in collaboration with other researchers within the unit, contributing to securing research funding (both internally and externally), and mentoring junior researchers within the unit.

As a part of the Unit for Intelligent Systems, your main tasks will include leading and coordinating research projects within the unit. You will also be responsible for seeking research grants, both through open calls and direct assignments from the industry. An important part of the role will be mentoring junior researchers and supporting their professional development.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to engage in internal and external networks to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange. You will conduct research and present your findings in scientific publications to contribute to the knowledge base in the field. It is also important for us to apply research results in collaboration with various stakeholders to promote innovation and development within natural language processing and artificial intelligence.

Who Are You?
As a senior researcher in natural language processing, you have a PhD in a relevant field and several years of experience from postdoctoral research. You are passionate about research and have high intellectual and technical standards, enjoy collaborating with other researchers to break new ground and solve problems. You are open to new challenges and happy to be part of a hybrid research organization that connects academia and industry. You have an established network within academia or industry. Being able to use Swedish as a working language is considered a bonus.

Are We a Good Fit?
At RISE, we value differences, and we believe that diversity contributes to an innovative environment. We are a hybrid research organization that connects academia, industry, and the public sector, and we are passionate problem solvers working on some of the most important and interesting issues in the world. At RISE, you will work in a stimulating environment that offers opportunities for both professional and personal development. Welcome to Sweden's national research institute and innovation partner!
