We are now looking for a researcher within the area of cognitive psychology or behavioral science to join our team in Stockholm. Experience from industry – either as an employee or through collaboration – is a bonus.

In the unit of “Perception and design” we work with perception, sensory analysis, and consumer behavior related to materials and consumer products. We work in a highly multidisciplinary environment collaborating with researchers from different fields to achieve a complete understanding of the factors influencing perception and behavior.

About the position
As a researcher at RISE you will be working with a range of different research and development projects as well as industrial consultancy projects. Your work will include, among other things:

• Meeting with industrial clients to bring in new projects
• Design and execute sensory and behavioral experiments
• Data analysis and interpretation of experimental results
• Participating in writing research proposals

Your role will vary between being the project leader and hands-on team member in different parallel projects, working closely with other researchers within the unit and from other disciplines. You will be given an independent role but as a part of a research team.

The position occasionally includes evening work as well as some travels, nationally or internationally.

Who are you?
We believe that you are self-motivated and eager to learn and to incorporate new ideas. For this roll you need to have previous experience of both quantitative and qualitative research methods. You are highly collaborative and able to work in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English for both research and industry environments is a requirement. It is an additional merit if you can speak Swedish as the corporate language is Swedish. Since your work includes contact with industrial partners, is it important that you feel comfortable with this.

You either have a PhD in psychology/behavioral science or several years of relevant experience in the area. You have experience from both qualitative and quantitative research methods. You master statistical methods, and are an experienced user of either R, MODDE or SPSS. Industrial experience is also meritorious.
