RISE is Sweden's research institute and innovation partner. In international cooperation with companies, academia, and the public sector, we contribute to a sustainable future. At the unit for Agriculture and Horticulture I, we work with research and innovation in animal production with focus on production systems, housing, animal health and welfare and environmental impact. We are now looking for a researcher who wants to be involved and contribute to a sustainable development of animal production.

About the role
As researcher and project manager in animal production, you will be an important part of a competent team focused on sustainable livestock production and the development of primary production. You will work with planning and implementation of research and development projects, publication of scientific papers and reports, and active participation in business development. You will have a close collaboration with both colleagues and external partners and customers. You will network and attend industry-related meetings and you will communicate ongoing research projects, both internally and externally.

Travel may be included, both nationally and internationally, in accordance with the needs of the projects. The position will be located in Uppsala, Lund or Skara with the current possibility of hybrid work.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who have a PhD in animal science, veterinary medicine or equivalent. You have in-depth knowledge in primary production and livestock production as well as adequate experience in project management and collaboration with various actors. You have several years of experience of work within research and an established network of contacts in the industry and are skilled in data processing and statistical analysis and to write scientific texts and research applications.

To be successful in this role, you should be a good teammate with an open and positive attitude. You need to be practically oriented and solution-driven, with the ability to work both in a team and independently. You enjoy taking on new challenges and contributing to development. It is advantageous if you are experienced in international research collaboration. Experience of working with different types of farm animals and expertise in infection control issues, animal health or feed safety is also beneficial.

The role requires that you know Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and that you have a B driver's license.
