About us
Our mission at RISE is to promote sustainable growth in Sweden by strengthening the competitiveness and renewal of the private sector and contributing to the innovative development of society. The unit Sustainability Analytics belongs to the Department of System Transition in the Division of Built Environment. Over the past ten years, the staff have worked to build knowledge in circular business model innovation, circular business ecosystems and sustainability analysis at different system levels. We specialize in methods such as circularity measurement, life cycle assessment, choice modelling, techno-economic analysis and business model innovation and combine these methods to answer questions from multiple perspectives. We thrive at the intersection of the private sector, the public sector and civil society/citizens.
From an organizational perspective, we help our partners envision, understand and create sustainable, circular business ecosystems that prioritize longevity, repair and reuse. From a consumer perspective, we help understand consumption patterns and develop underlying logics, rules and norms with the goal of changing behavior towards sufficient and circular consumption. Together, this results in longer product lifetimes, higher utilization rates and material circulation.
About the role
As a researcher with us, you will, together with colleagues and partners, work in projects where you drive forward the research area of LCA for circularity.
You will develop and deliver results that are directly applicable by companies, businesses and other organizations across industries, sectors and product types. The results aim to demonstrate how organizations can ensure a sustainable transformation of their business, operations and the system they operate in. Furthermore, you will work together with research colleagues within the unit, both in the field of LCA and in the broader field of decision support methods and sustainability analysis of circular economy and resource efficiency. You will also have access to a broad network across RISE working in different ways with domain-specific LCA, as well as with other technical and business-related experts.
As a new employee in our unit, you will receive a solid introduction. In collaboration with your colleagues, you are expected to contribute with experience and expertise in ongoing and newly started projects. In the longer term, we see you becoming independent and formulating and conceptualizing the LCA elements of large research applications yourself. The goal for the unit is that we together at RISE will advance the position of LCA for circularity and become one of the most recognized research institutes in the field.
Who are you?
To thrive and succeed in this role, you are curious, unpretentious and motivated to learn new things. You are able to build relationships and inspire confidence based on your competence and communication skills. You find it easy to cooperate in different constellations and enjoy the fact that the work is varied - e.g. in terms of industry, product and material - and sometimes unpredictable. It goes without saying that you deliver independent and impartial results.
Requirements for the role are as follows:
It is an advantage for the role if you
Are we right for each other?
At RISE, we like diversity and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. We bring together passionate problem solvers to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps most fun, problems.
