Sweden is facing a gigantic transformation of the energy system, and in that transformation, RISE will play a big part. Together with industry, academia, and the public sector, we develop competitive solutions and conditions that drive sustainable development forward. But we need to grow, and we need your help. Your help to find new solutions for a sustainable future, together. Do you want to become one of us? We hope so!
About us
The Energy Technology unit within the Department of Biorefinery and Energy conducts research and development in thermochemical conversion processes and electrification of the process industry. The business includes projects linked to gasification processes, combustion processes, plasma technology, carbon dioxide capture, green carbon materials, non-intrusive diagnostics and process simulation. In recent years, our business has expanded significantly and we are now looking for one or more researchers with expertise in our fields.
About the role
As a researcher with us, you will initially strengthen our research groups within BECCS / U (bioenery carbon capture and storage / utilization) and green carbon materials, areas where we have several funded and ongoing projects. Our projects often include both theoretical modeling and experimental campaigns, and we develop new methods and experimental setups to answer the current research questions. In your role as a researcher, you are expected to design experiments and modeling in order to answer the research questions, interpret results from these and compile them in scientific articles. Together with your colleagues, you will also participate in the development of our business through, for example, applications, customer contacts and new collaborations.
The location for the role is Piteå.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a PhD in the field of thermochemical conversion processes (combustion, gasification, liquefaction) and / or electrification of the process industry. You have good knowledge of English in speech and writing. Knowledge of Swedish is meritorious. Furthermore, you have good computer skills, mainly in the Office package.
As a person, you are driven, structured, a good problem solver and can work independently. You are good at compiling research results in scientific articles and can also present and explain your work to others with different experiences and backgrounds.
Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for Swedish industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden’s Research Institute and Innovation Partner.
