RISE Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Safety is looking for a toxicologist to join our team.
The department is comprised of many competencies, including performing preclinical safety studies and safety assessments in drug discovery and chemical development, biocompatibility, and toxicological assessments in MedTech, pharmaco/toxicokinetic assessments, bioanalysis, computational modelling and protein analysis. The department also is GLP certified for its animal and bioanalytical studies and the organisation currently comprises 30 co-workers.
About the role
As a toxicologist, you will be responsible for customer contact and the design, performance and interpretation of toxicological studies, and the delivery of appropriate risk assessments for commissioned projects, which may come from a variety of sectors (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, MedTech). The planning, advice given, and assessments made are based on scientific support and regulatory requirements but are tailored to each individual project’s needs. The role also encompasses strategic discussions with different experts both within the department and with other groups at RISE.
The role also includes maintaining all aspect of customer contact, sub-contracting to and monitoring studies at external contract laboratories and also discussions with regulatory authorities when required.
The employment is permanent and located in Södertälje, Sweden.
Who are you?
You have at least a degree in toxicology, biology, pharmacy, or equivalent scientific disciplines. You are not afraid to take on a wide variation of tasks and are motivated by challenges. You place high demands on yourself with respect to work ethic and documentation and can work flexibly and responsibly, whilst not being afraid to take your own initiatives. It is desirable that you have experience either of pharmaceutical discovery/development or of the development of chemical products. You can communicate well both with other colleagues and with customers.
