About us 
The team at Medical Device Evaluation consists of 15 researchers and project leaders, within chemical analysis, micro- and cell biology, that participate in research projects, and support companies mainly in the medical device industry.  

RISE has a unique infrastructure for molecular surface analysis, and material characterization, including a recently acquired ToF-SIMS instrument. We are mainly involved in projects for material characterization within the Life Science sector, but also in astrobiology and geology. Our aim is to develop our analysis group with another ToF-SIMS researcher in order to expand our current offer related to our new instrument, but also towards new sectors such as corossion, new fuels and batteries.  

About the role 
As a ToF-SIMS researcher at RISE you will have a varied work description including: 

  • Actively participating in and leading applied research projects both as a project leader, and as responsible for laborative assignments. 
  • Being responsible for customer assignments from first contact, writing tenders, performing analyses and writing reports. 
  • Participate in daily maintenance of the lab, practical laboratory work and research activities related to our ToF-SIMS instrument. 
  • Participate in the strategic development of the analysis group regarding what research collaborations should be initiated and what new offers should be set up for ToF-SIMS. 
  • Participate in the strategic development for how RISE infrastructure for chemical/molecular analyses is best utilized. 

Who are you? 
We are looking for a motivated researcher with ToF-SIMS competence to our team in Gothenburg/Borås. 

Further, it is desirable if you have: 

  • a PhD in chemistry, physics or other natural science subject 
  • experience from ToF-SIMS or similar technique 
  • both theoretical and practical experience of material characterization with different analysis methods 
  • experience of larger research collaborations, project, preferably as project leader 
  • experience from industry or industrial collaborations 
  • an eye for problem solving and analytical skill 
  • a custom oriented mindset and good communicative ability

The position is placed in security class, which means that you need to be a Swedish citizen and undergo a security clearance, in accordance with the Protective Security Act in order to work with us at RISE.
