What is Cybercampus Sverige?
Cybercampus Sverige is a national collaboration between several universities, research institutes, government agencies and companies across Sweden. Cybercampus Sverige will identify, execute, strengthen, and coordinate cross-university education, research, and innovation on topics important for Swedish civil and military cyber defence as well as industrial competitiveness. The mission for Cybercampus Sverige is to carry out agile and cutting-edge cybersecurity education, research, and innovation vital for a resilient and competitive Sweden that go beyond what is possible for an individual university, institute, agency, or company.
RISE with Professor Shahid Raza leads the research pillar of Cybercampus and is now recruiting 10 PhD students. The positions are distributed between RISE and the partner universities with physical placement at Cybercampus in Stockholm. Professor Simone Fischer-Hübner from Karlstad University oversees research education and is in charge of establishing a National Cybersecurity graduate school for Cybercampus and Dr Katarina Boustedt from RISE serves as research coordinator of Cybercampus.
Who are Cybercampus?
Currently, most Swedish universities are either in the process to sign, or have already signed, LoIs to join Cybercampus. As soon as these organisations join as official partners to Cybercampus they will be eligible for hosting PhD students.
Key Cybersecurity Research Needs in Sweden

These topics pose cybersecurity challenges that need to be addressed by researchers with complementing technical expertise and through interdisciplinary cooperation. Therefore, Cybercampus also intends to support interdisciplinary cooperation projects with researchers from law and/or social sciences.

Who are you?
As a candidate for this PhD position, you must, at the time of employment, have a Master of Science degree in computer science / computer engineering / information security or related areas. Expertise and experience in cybersecurity will be a significant part of the selection process. Good command of both spoken and written English is required.
Working in Sweden

All PhD students and Postdocs are full employees, with standard salaries and five weeks of paid holiday. The starting salary of PhD student varies with the affiliation and is currently starting at 31000 SEK/month. Spouses of employees are entitled to work permits, and, after being awarded a PhD degree, non-EU citizens are eligible for permanent work permits. Healthcare is free after a small co-pay and employers often provide additional occupational health services and subsidizes athletic costs such as a gym membership. The parental benefits in Sweden are among the best in the world, including extensive parental leave (for both parents), paid time off to care for sick children, and affordable daycare.
