About us
Our mission at RISE is to promote sustainable growth in Sweden by strengthening the competitiveness and renewal of the private sector and contributing to innovation and development across society. The unit Sustainability Analytics belongs to the Department of System Transition at the Division of the Built Environment. Over the past 10 years, colleagues have contributed to scholarship and working knowledge in circular business model innovation, circular business ecosystems and sustainability analysis at different systemic levels. We specialize in methods such as circularity assessment, life cycle assessment, choice modelling, techno-economic analysis and business model innovation, combining these methods to answer questions from multiple perspectives and drive economic development based on longer product lifetimes, higher utilization rates and material circulation. We thrive at the intersection of the private sector, the public sector and civil society/citizens, and we have identified financing as one of the key challenges for a circular transition.
For six years, we have therefore been conducting research in the field of circular finance, together with businesses and financial actors. We have also participated in and driven several initiatives aimed at coaching and supporting the financial sector in the transition. One of these was the management of a working group for finance within the Swedish government's collaboration program for climate transition of the private sector, another was that in 2023 we managed a Nordic initiative that resulted in a Nordic Roadmap for Circular Financing.
About the role
As an expert with us, you will, together with colleagues and partners, work in projects where you shape and drive the field of circular finance forward in a Swedish and European context. You will - together with colleagues in the unit and in other parts of RISE - identify research questions and develop projects and consortia around them. The consortia bring together partners from the financial sector in Sweden, the Nordic region and Europe and the projects result in both published research articles, professional reports, and tools and methods that the financial sector can use to increase the degree of financing of circular business in their own operations.
As a new employee in our unit, you will receive a solid introduction. In collaboration with your colleagues, you are expected to contribute with experience and expertise in both ongoing and newly started projects. In the longer term, we see you becoming independent and formulating and conceptualizing the financial part of large research projects yourself. The goal of the unit is that we together at RISE will advance circular finance both academically and by supporting implementation in industry.
Who are you?
To thrive and succeed in this role, you are curious, unpretentious and motivated to learn new things. You are able to build relationships and inspire confidence based on your competence and communication skills. You find it easy to collaborate in different constellations and enjoy the fact that the work is varied and sometimes unpredictable. It goes without saying that you deliver independent and impartial results.
Requirements for the role are as follows:
It is an advantage for the role if you:
Are we right for each other?
At RISE, we like diversity and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. We bring together passionate problem solvers to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps most fun, problems.
