Do you want to contribute to sustainable digital solutions, AI and data? Do research and innovation in green, reliable, and trustworthy software solutions contributing to Swedish and European digital sovereignty sound interesting? If enthusiasm and curiosity is in your nature and if you like to work at the forefront of technology together with colleagues and partners, then we might be right for each other!

About us
Our Computer Science units in Luleå are growing and we are now looking for a new team member to work on software development within AI- and data-platforms and data engineering. In Luleå, we operate Europe's leading data center laboratory, and our research and innovation activities range from ground to cloud. Together with partners and customers from industry and academia we develop sustainable and energy-efficient systems and software for cloud services, telecom edge networks, data innovation platforms (e.g., Digital Earth Sweden) and more.

About the role
As a software developer and researcher in our team, you get the opportunity to work in a growing and leading research institute with excellent development opportunities. You will be an important contributor to our committed and highly skilled Data Platforms team, adopting state of the art working methods and collaboration tools. The role will contribute to our partnership with the Swedish national Space Agency, with which we develop solutions and strategies for use of earth observation data to the benefit of Swedish industry and society. In this role, you will work with technologies such as linux, kubernetes, containers, cloud native and databases. You will use your broad programming skills and work with concepts such as continuous integration and deployment, devops, and agile development.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. The workplace is in Luleå.

Who are you?
We believe that you are passionate about software engineering, data platforms, cloud technologies and building things in general. As a colleague, we think you are a solution-oriented person who likes to take on new opportunities and social contexts. With solid skills, a flexible way of working and aptitude for abstraction, you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-tech environment. You have a master's degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering or equivalent. While a PhD degree and 5+ years of software development experience in relevant fields would be ideal, motivation and a willingness to learn goes a long way.  As our partners are both in and outside Sweden, we prefer candidates with strong oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Are we right for each other?
At RISE, we like different and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge for the future. With us, passionate problem solvers meet to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps fun, problems. We cannot promise you an easy job, but what we can promise you is a team of committed colleagues and exciting societal and industrial challenges to tackle. You will work in a dynamic environment that gives you development opportunities both professionally and personally. With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference. Welcome to RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
