About us
The Materials and Surface Design department within RISE is an innovation partner for small and large companies within wood, binders, cosmetics, smart materials, and surface modification. The focus of the department's units is on polymeric materials and binders, barriers, adhesives, durability, perception, composites, smart materials, and formulation to name a few, where circularity and sustainability are high on the agenda. Within the Binders and Additive unit, the department focuses, among other things, on formulation work within e.g., barriers, binders, and smart additives for a variety of industries, including the road infrastructure sector. But also, modification of polymers and refinement of side streams are relevant. We work with product development and applied research on behalf of customers and in publicly funded research projects.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who enjoy working in lab and field in an environment with varying types of assignments. To become successful in the role you need to have a master's degree in science specialization in material chemistry / polymer chemistry / physical chemistry and:

  • Doctoral degree in material chemistry and/or civil engineering
  • Skills in being able to handle many projects at the same time
  • Scientific background related to infrastructure
  • Structured
  • Enjoy working in lab and field
  • Knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing

About the role
To grow our business, we are now looking for a junior researcher with a research background in material scienece and experience from infrastructure related topics. The job is laboratory intensive and multifaceted, which means that you need to be flexible and be able to work on many projects at the same time and at the same time deliver on time. Good development opportunities exist over time. The position is a permanent employment within the unit Binders and Additives. The role largely includes laboratory work / research and participation in customer projects and research projects and to write applications to research funders.

At RISE, we work in a dynamic environment where problem solving is an important component of all work. You will also participate in business development and is expected to have and make contacts with customers and research partners to identify new projects within our focus areas. Being able to understand the customer's or user's perspective is one important characteristic in this work. You need to enjoy working in a structured way, often in several different projects at the same time, and in close collaboration with customers and research partners. A good collaboration with customers, colleagues, and the ability to create constructive and good relationships are fundamental to our business development. The position is in Stockholm.
