As a part of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative related to EU projects, RISE invites candidates to apply for a postdoctoral position in AI for medical imaging and testing with health data. The search is conducted jointly by the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), Digital Health Department.

Project description
Through the program for a digital Europe (DIGITAL), the European Commission wants to increase the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of the EU's healthcare system, and reduce inequalities in healthcare within the EU. AI and robotics are considered critical areas that need to be developed to achieve this goal. The DIGITAL program is designed to strengthen the EU's core capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) and is a key driver for the digital transformation of the public and private sectors.

The TEF HEALTH call is part of the European Artificial intelligence (AI) strategy’s aim to optimize the development of AI, and to promote trust in, and deployment of, AI-based software and hardware solutions. A critical part of Europe´s ability to execute this strategy is to interface the AI-development needs of SMEs with critical hardware infrastructures, health data and expertise within the health care and health research domains.

About the position
We are looking for strong candidates working in a broad set of areas of AI for medical imaging, including bioinformatics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and AI platform pipelines for medical companies. The work will include validation of the quality of data for testbeds, data processing, quality control, statistical analysis, data visualization, interpretation, and presentation of findings in the form of scientific publications, projects meetings, EU-reports, and conferences in EU. Further, our tasks are to support small and medium-sized businesses and organizations to use AI solutions in health with our exiting AI-services (AI-centre in Sweden) at RISE.

You will help to manage our cooperation with EU partners and supporting SME by using dataset, images, and testbeds. Our tasks are Data mining, Algorithm development, Algorithm improvement, Machine learning feasibility investigation and implementation.

You will be involved in EU collaborations with clinical and medical partners. Our mission is that we perform both independent workflow and teamwork for training and project implementation together with EU-partners and international customers. Depending on your background, in AI and image analysis, your mission will be tailored to fit your competence and our tasks needs.

The position is located at RISE, Department of Digital health in Stockholm/Sweden (Kista).
