We are looking for an experienced Research Project Manager to join the Mobility and Systems (MoS) unit on Gothenburg, Sweden. We are looking for a person with a solid background in leading big and complex research projects, at the same time we would like you to have documented hands-on research experience yourself.
In the Mobility and Systems unit, we conduct applied research within sustainable transport and surrounding domains (vehicles, industry, mobility services, etc.). In the ongoing transformation towards increased digitalization, automation, and electrification there are many unanswered questions. As a Research Project Manager at RISE, you will be leading projects consisting of one or several researchers from RISE, and many times also small or large consortia of academia, industry and society – delivering ground-breaking results for the mobility and transportation of tomorrow.
About the position
As a Senior Research Project Manager at RISE you will be leading, and working with, a range of different research and development projects. Your work will include, among many other things:
RISE has an in-house developed light-weight project management model (RPM), which we want you to use. It is however important, that you have worked as a project manager before, and that you can propose and implement a tailored, lean and efficient way of working for each individual project.
We always want to ensure that our customers get a high-quality delivery; we want to ensure that we manage risks and opportunities in an efficient way; and we also want you to be able to support and coach more junior project managers. The demands of you in this role will be various and high; we can promise a fun and challenging job!
Our research project portfolio in Mobility and Transportation is broad. We work with everything from automotive cybersecurity, self-learning systems, how different organizations can collaborate with new/external actors, to how we can protect the privacy of digitally weak individuals. Our colleagues have backgrounds in Transformation and Logistics areas, Information systems, AI, Business modelling, Organizational theory, Law, Philosophy and much more. The interdisciplinary nature of our teams inspires us towards new innovative projects and allows us to take on complex societal challenges. It is important that you can combine flexibility with structure, and sometimes take quick decisions based on totally new information.
Who are you?
We are looking for a new colleague who is passionate about Project Management and interested in Mobility & Transportation. You enjoy leading project and people and are always eager to learn new things. The results from your projects will be shared in scientific publications, as well as publications and presentations directed towards those who need them the most.
We are looking for a Research Project manager with a relevant academic degree such as MSc, PhD or similar, in a relevant technical area. We will be looking for some, but not necessarily all, of the following competences and experiences:
