About us
Digital Innovation is a unit within Mobility and Systems with a mission to perform research and apply knowledge to address societal challenges using digital innovation as unit of analysis. Our research aims to, early on, identify and explore possibilities in and effects from digital technologies, to provide guidance on how digitalization can create value for agencies, industries and society, with a focus on but not limited to mobility and transportation.  The forward-looking research is organised in five research areas: 1) Digital innovation and organization, 2) novel technologies, 3) services and business models, 4) open data and platforms, and 5) strategy. Results are disseminated directly to our partners as well as through applied projects, demonstrators, and public and scientific publications. We are currently 15 researchers in the unit located in Umeå, Kista, Lindholmen and Lund that explore different research topics anchored in one or several of the five research areas.
