Researcher within Food Materials Science - Under tillsättning eller tillsatt, ej sökbar

We are now looking for a researcher within materials science of soft materials such as foods to join our team in Gothenburg.  The unit Product Design at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden consists of 23 persons who design food and bio-based materials with specific properties, mainly for future food which is innovative and healthy. We also work with adjacent areas such as hygiene, pharma and paper/pulp as well as soft materials for medical use. We assist industry in advanced product development and conduct applied research aimed at future applications. Topics range from developing new plant-based meat and dairy analogues and 3D-printed food for seniors to applications of nano-cellulose and marine biopolymers.

About the position
In your role as a researcher you will independently design and conduct experiments, both individually and together with others. You will contribute with your expertise in national and international research projects as well as contract-work for the industry. Your role will include both practical laboratory work and project management in different parallel projects working closely with other scientists and experimentalists inside and outside of RISE. Other responsibilities include performing data analysis, interpretation of experimental results, reporting as well as writing scientific papers, research proposals and offer of contracts.

Who are you?
You like challenges and search for solutions, and like working together with colleagues and industrial clients. Experience of materials science especially rheology, material physics and chemistry or food science are essential. Experience of analytical physical techniques is also desirable.  You have a PhD in food materials science, food technology, food chemistry, soft materials science or equivalent. Experience from combining areas is also a strong qualification.  You are a person who independently can plan and perform experimental assignments and cooperate with other specialists as well as with industrial users. You should have the ability to lead projects and like exploiting research results and initiate new projects.

You are fluent in English, both in writing and verbally, and we assume you have basic knowledge in Swedish as well. You are used to national and international collaboration.
