About us
The Unit of Chemical Problem Solving is recruiting a project leader/researcher to the team in Borås, Sweden. We are looking for you who are an experienced and driven researcher in inorganic chemical recycling, preferably within the area of batteries. Our unit has a wide range of expertise and well-equipped modern laboratories.

About the role
As a researcher, you are expected to work cross-functionally with other researchers in different types of projects, contributing with high technical level of expertise and the ability to drive your projects forward in a solution-oriented manner. You are expected to collaborate with other actors by developing technology for recycling and extraction of inorganic substances from batteries or similar materials. In this context, it is expected that you develop new solutions within the area of recycling using various chemical methods. You get motivated by solving our customer problems and environmental issues as well as technical challenges of our society. As a researcher, you are expected to keep up to date on new developments in areas relevant to the business and build deep competence within the area of inorganic chemical recycling. Finally, you should feel comfortable writing research applications and implementing projects.

Who are you?
To thrive in the role, you need to be self-driven, structured, be able to take own initiatives and be opened to input from customers and colleagues. You are creative and like to face problems that requires you to explore new areas. Technical curiosity is something that drives you, in particular the area of recycling, and you enjoy practical experimental work. You have relevant experience of working strategically and leading projects. You have a good ability to communicate with stakeholders and write applications and reports.

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in chemistry or other relevant education
  • 5–10 years of relevant work experience (from industry or university) preferably as project leader or researcher
  • High scientific competence in the context of industrial challenges
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Experience from hydrometallurgy, electrochemistry or inorganic chemistry, and preferably related to recycling
