About us
AstaZero, a joint venture between RISE, Research Institutes of Sweden (ri.se) and Chalmers University of Technology (Chalmers.se), is the world’s first full-scale independent test environment for future road safety. AstaZero has a unique capacity with its own proving ground and digital environments that create the opportunity to conduct, support and accelerate research and development in the transport sector. Development often takes place through partnerships and in close cooperation with vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, authorities and universities from all over the world.

Your role
You will be an important part of our R&D department consisting of smaller agile development teams, where we develop solutions that ensure the reliability of the transport system in terms of road safety in the future. By participating in research projects together with industry and academia, you contribute to the technologies that shape tomorrow's safe and secure transport systems and infrastructure. You will work both in our own internal development projects but also within research projects together with several different external partners.

As a software development engineer, you will be part of one of our different growing agile development teams where the goal is to create software that contributes to increased ability, both short-term and long-term, regarding verification testing at AstaZero. Each team has focus in different areas such as; development of virtual testing environments and software related to virtual testing, development of network communication scenarios and autonomous test systems, connectivity and cyber security or digital systems and test management. Which team you will be a part of depends in your interest and background of competence.

In your role at AstaZero, you will work independently, while maintaining a close dialogue in the team. Your work is mainly done at the development office at Lindholmen, with the flexibility to, when it’s possible, work part time from home, but some continuously activities will also take place on our proving ground outside Borås.

Your profile
You are driven by curiosity and have a passion for new technologies. You like new challenges and are focused and committed to deliver high quality. You are a team player with strong communication skills. It is important that you are self-motivated, and that you have a drive to come up with new ideas. Taking initiatives and pursuing new ideas comes naturally for you.

  • You have a M.Sc. in Computer science, Engineering Physics, Electrical engineering or similar.
  • You have at least 5 years work experience and good C++ and Python programming skills
  • You have work experience within sensor system like camera, radar and lidar.
  • You have experience of Linux / UNIX environments.
  • You are fluent in Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
  • Driving license B is a requirement. The position is based in Gothenburg, but you will also spend working time at our proving ground.

Meritorious if you have experience:

  • working with cloud, databases, git, or open source
  • with development of web interface or visualization tools. (Gui)
  • within the Cyber security test area
  • working with connectivity within the automated industry
  • working with gaming engines (e.g. Unity and Unreal Engine)

Great emphasis will be placed on personal characteristics.
