About us
Today we are two units, in total 40 persons, working with Sustainable Consumption and Production. The area of Sustainable Nutrition focuses on nutritional/health and environmental impacts of food products and diets and is one of the focus areas of Sustainable Consumption and Production. You will be working alongside colleagues with expertise in nutrition and sustainability assessments of food consumption and production using Life cycle assessment (LCA) and applying a holistic perspective to identify opportunities for a sustainable transformation of the food system.

About the role
The position will focus on the development and application of:

  • expertise in nutrition and sustainability,
  • nutritional indicators for assessing the nutritional quality of food products and diets, and
  • methods for the combined analysis of food products impact on nutrition, health and the environment that are applied in sustainability analysis, for example in LCA.

As researcher in Sustainable Nutrition, you will participate in all phases of research projects from application, through conducting researching activities, to reporting. With your expertise you will also contribute to contract work for companies and organisations to provide guidance, new methodology and knowledge, and means of decision support. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the same area and take an active role in developing our contribution/offer to organisations and research projects.

Together with your colleagues in the area you will continue developing the research area through external collaborations and the creation of new projects. You will also actively seek out opportunities of applying your expertise in a way that adds value to companies and organisations in the food sector. As a researcher at RISE you will plan and perform project and development activities together with your closest colleagues – we work as a team rather than as individuals – with focus on putting our knowledge to good use.

You have the capacity to build on external relations and contacts to create collaboration and new projects. A personal network in the research area, and experience of writing research applications is also meriting. If you have competence and experience in data management and statistics this is meriting. A good proficiency in spoken and written English is required also, spoken and written Swedish is meriting and desirable in the long term. Naturally, we assume that you take an interest in issues related to food and sustainability. If you have experience of working with LCA and the environmental impact of food this is meriting.

You are a structured, analytical person with an inherent capability of planning your work and living up to deliverables. You take a positive stance and tend to look for solutions to difficulties and enjoy working as a team player. You have good communication skills.

You have a high scientific integrity. We believe you want to work in an interdisciplinary context, and you consider societal actors such as companies, authorities and non-governmental organizations to have an important role, together with researchers, in the transition to a sustainable society.

With us, passionate problem solvers meet to solve some of the world's most important problems. We can not promise you an easy job, but what we can promise you is a team of committed colleagues and some really exciting societal challenges to tackle.
