RISE is a gathering of forces for the sustainable transition that business, society, and the world need. We work with the solutions that can make a difference here and now, and with the areas of knowledge and techniques that can be crucial tomorrow.

RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and its subsidiary RISE Processum are leaders in the development of the bioeconomy and biorefineries of the future. With a unique array of research areas, testbeds and demonstration environments, we offer a comprehensive solution for the conversion of biomass into green products to replace their fossil-based equivalents. On behalf of the Swedish Government, we are establishing The Bioeconomy Arena - a hub for research within biobased solutions. This includes extensively modernising our testbeds and making a number of new investments to improve the opportunities for commercialising new solutions for a circular bioeconomy.

We are expanding the team and are looking for a project manager who want to contribute to the development of an international hub for bioeconomy research and innovation.

About the position
The project manager's primary task is to contribute to RISE Processum's capacity to act as advisors to guide innovative companies on their commercialization journey by leading or participating in projects and customer collaborations. The project manager can see the big picture and directly work with process development, technoeconomic analysis, technology evaluations and upscaling of biorefinery processes.

Furthermore, as part of the Innovation Systems Group one part of the role is leading and running projects to promote cooperation and innovation in the biorefinery area. The group is also responsible for coordinating and developing the Processum Biorefinery Cluster, that carries out networking activities, project management and development of services to support technology scale-up and innovation for the Swedish industry. Another of the group's tasks is to develop and add new capabilities for upscaling and commercialization, such as technoeconomic analysis, project development, financing, etc.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who have several years of experience in project management. It is an advantage if you have experience of working with innovation initiatives and/or clusters and have a good knowledge of the bioeconomy area. It is also a merit if you have experience of working with innovation support for small and medium-sized companies and experience of application work against Swedish international financiers (eg. Vinnova, Energimyndigheten, Tillväxtverket or Horizon Europe). It is an advantage if you have a well-developed network within the innovation system in Sweden and in bioeconomy. You have the relevant academic degree as a basis. You are self-motivated and solution oriented. It's easy for you to collaborate with others and make new contacts, both internally and externally. Good communication skills both in writing and orally in Swedish and English are a requirement.

About us

Within our cluster activities, advice in sustainability and life cycle assessment to both large and small companies in the bioeconomy is a crucial step in the development of new sustainable concepts. Our projects range from shorter assignments to larger national and international research projects, often in collaboration with colleagues from RISE's various areas of expertise.
