About Us
SEEL Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory is a subsidiary jointly owned by Chalmers and RISE, enabling research and development in electromobility. SEEL is currently finalizing the establishment of three state-of-the-art testing facilities in Gothenburg, Nykvarn, and Borås. The goal of SEEL is to enhance effective knowledge building and collaboration to accelerate the development of electrified transportation.

The automotive and aviation industry, the maritime sector, and developers of relevant technology will have the opportunity to test prototypes and products at independent test facilities with cutting-edge equipment. We currently have about 30 dedicated employees at SEEL and are rapidly expanding.

About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing interfaces between test objects and rigs. Within the electrical workshop, you ensure that it's properly equipped and updated. Furthermore, you'll quality assure equipment (test objects and measurement technology) before and during tests and build good relationships with external and internal customers throughout the process. In the long term, you'll work on continuous development of operations and methods and contribute to increased collaboration within SEEL. You'll have significant responsibility with both technical and area oversight, as well as budget responsibility for the electrical workshop. As needed, you'll also participate in SEEL's management group meetings.

You'll also work on:

  • Being a bridge to customers during preparation and troubleshooting of test objects
  • Building necessary adapters, cabling, and connectors
  • Contributing to a good working environment
  • Ensuring calibration of tools and measurement equipment within specifications and timelines
  • Developing methods for relevant areas
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software, and preparing test objects and measurement technology, if needed, together with customers or rig managers
  • Mentoring and developing junior technicians

You'll report to the Chief of Powertrain Testing. The location is in Gothenburg, at our new facility in Säve. Some travel occurs a few times a year.

Who Are You?
To succeed in this role, you have at least a technical high school education, but most likely a post-secondary engineering degree or equivalent work experience. You have a minimum of 10 years of experience and industry knowledge within the automotive sector, which has provided you with knowledge of typical test objects for an operation like SEEL's. You're open to conducting basic training and have practical experience in electrical work and soldering.

As a person, you're attentive, proactive, and responsible, with a strong motivation to solve problems. You have the ability to switch between different tasks quickly and are skilled at prioritizing. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Swedish is a requirement, as well as a class B driver's license. Class C and D driver's licenses and a forklift license are beneficial but not mandatory.
