About the role 
We offer a PhD position in measurement technology focused on condition monitoring using multimodal sensor systems for anomaly detection and classification with machine learning. The research for the service is carried out in close collaboration with national and international partners.

The focus of the position is in the area of anomaly detection and classification with machine learning.  The service may also include implementation aspects of machine learning models on edge devices. Work can be experimental and theoretical in nature and includes data collection, development and verification of models, and generalization of solutions.

Basic eligibility is for those who have completed an advanced level degree or completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at advanced level or have acquired essentially equivalent knowledge in some other way within or outside the country. Those who have at least 90 higher education credits in electrical engineering, computer engineering subjects closely related to these, or who have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in any other way within or outside the country, have special eligibility.

Who are you?
In addition to the formal eligibility requirements, the selection will also be based on the relevance of prior knowledge for working with sensor technology and machine learning, relevance in thesis work, project work, courses and interviews with the applicants. Signal processing, use multimodal sensor system and experience with various machine learning models are seen as an advantage.  Personal qualities such as cooperativeness, initiative and suitability for doctoral studies will be weighed against formal subject knowledge. A brief description of the applicant's visions and goals must be included in the application.

The doctoral position refers to a position that primarily corresponds to four years of full-time studies and is expected to lead to a doctoral degree. Access by agreement. Place of employment is Sundsvall.
